For twenty one years the Sonoma County Museum and the Sonoma County Woodworkers Association have collaborated to present Artistry in Wood, a major showcase of fine regional craftsmanship. The exhibition reflects Sonoma County’s legacy of arts and crafts, as well as the local resonance of wood and the landscape. Over the years, Artistry in Wood has evolved from a simple exhibition of a local crafts association, into something greater. While firmly grounded in Sonoma County, Artistry in Wood has developed a broader, regional reputation drawing participants from Sacramento, San Diego, Mendocino County and other areas of California. It has become one of the largest and most respected annual exhibitions of woodwork in the state. 2009 judges were Jerry Konicek, Kent Odell and Merryll Saylan. The exhibition was in part sponsored by the Sonoma County Woodworkers Association.
