The Art Museum of Sonoma County officially opened on Friday, April 11, 2015. A 4,500 sq. ft. gallery space located in the former Conklin Bros. building at 505 B Street, the new museum represents Phase I of a long-term expansion plan that will transform the entire corner of downtown Santa Rosa at 7th and B Streets.
The new gallery is a large open space with tall ceilings, skylights, a large translucent roll-up garage door, and concrete floors. Its environment is temperature and humidity controlled to ensure that the gallery meets national museum standards for displaying diverse art objects from works on paper to sculpture.
Jensen Architects of San Francisco designed the gallery.
